La Trinitaria ist ein Ort und ein Gemeindebezirk (Municipio) im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Chiapas und befindet sich im Süden des Staates. Das Municipio liegt in der Sierra Madre de Chiapas.
Der Name dieses Ortes kommt aus dem Nahuatl und bedeutet „Stiefmutter“. Das Municipio hat 59.690 Einwohner, ist 1840,7 km² groß und liegt 1540 m ü.d.M..
La Trinitaria grenzt an die Gemeinden La Independencia, Frontera Comalapa, Chicomuselo, Tzimol, Comitán de Domínguez und an die Republik Guatemala.[1]
