Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (CSN Mid-Atlantic) is a regional sports network in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It is owned by Comcast and is a member of the Comcast SportsNet.
It was founded in 1984 as Home Team Sports (HTS), one of the first regional sports networks. It was partly owned by CBS. Comcast acquired the network in early 2001 and rebranded it as CSN Mid-Atlantic on April 4 of that year.
CSN Mid-Atlantic, along with its other Comcast SportsNet branded networks, was revamped with a new logo and graphics package on October 1, 2008.

CSN Mid-Atlantic primarily serves Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.. It also serves much of North Carolina, primarily The Triangle area and points east and southeast, as well as the far eastern panhandle of West Virginia and the Harrisburg/Lancaster/York, Pennsylvania market.
CSN Mid-Atlantic televises most games of the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, Major League Soccer's DC United, and Major League Lacrosse's Washington Bayhawks. CSN Mid-Atlantic also carries the NFL's Washington Redskins magazine and post-game shows, and jointly broadcasts Redskins preseason games with WUSA. The network has rights to college games from the ACC and Colonial Athletic Association and coaches shows from Virginia Tech and the University of Maryland, College Park.
Other programming includes Redskins Nation, which airs on weekdays and is broadcast from Redskins Park in Ashburn, Virginia, a talk show called Washington Post Live which airs on weekdays and SportsNite, a highlight show which airs three times each night. The late-night broadcast of SportsNite is replayed during the morning as SportsRise.
CSN Mid-Atlantic also carries games produced by Fox Sports Net, most notably ACC men's and women's basketball, Pac-10 basketball, and Big 12 and Pac-10 football. They also air studio shows such as The Best Damn Sports Show Period, and the FSN Final Score. Other CSN affiliates in markets without a FSN affiliate also carry this programming.
Through the 2006 season, CSN Mid-Atlantic showed Baltimore Orioles games, which moved to team-owned MASN in 2007. Comcast refused to add MASN, which debuted in 2005 and also shows Washington Nationals games, to its cable systems until September 2006, because the company believed that they had a contractual right to keep Orioles games on their network by having first and last refusal rights. This led to some subscribers switching to DIRECTV, which had reached a deal with MASN, and a lawsuit between Comcast and the Orioles, which the Orioles ultimately won.
On air, the network simply refers to itself as Comcast SportsNet, rather than CSN. The network airs little programming produced by other Comcast SportsNet affiliates.
CSN Mid-Atlantic also has an overflow sports feed named CSN Plus (CSN+) that broadcasts select Wizards, Capitals, DC United, and ACC basketball games. It is only used when two games run simultaneously. CSN+ is carried by DirecTV and Dish Network and most cable companies in the region.
CSN Mid-Atlantic also has a high-definition feed named Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic HD. All home games and select road games of the Wizards, Capitals, and DC United are shown in HD, along with certain shows like Redskins Nation, Washington Post Live and SportsNite. CSN+ does not have a HD feed.
In addition, CSN also airs select college football and basketball games produced by FSN in HD.
