Audacity是一个跨平台的声音编辑软件。用于录音和编辑音讯。是自由、开放源代码的软件。可在Mac OS X、Microsoft Windows、GNU/Linux和其它操作系统上运作。Audacity在2004年7月获选为SourceForge.net当月最佳推荐专案^[1]，2007年7月选多媒体类的SourceForge.net 2007 Community Choice Awards ^[2]。

Audacity 最新版本是于2006年11月15日推出的1.2.6版本。另外1.3版本仍在测试中。

特色

Audacity 的特色：

• 汇入与汇出 WAV、MP3、Ogg Vorbis或者其他的声音档案格式
  • 从1.3Beta开始支援MP4及MOV档。
• 录音与放音
• 对声音做剪下、复制、贴上（可复原无限次数）
• 多音轨混音
• 数位效果与插件
• 波封编辑
• 杂音消除
• 支援多声道模式，取样频率最高可至96 kHz，每个取样点可以以24 bits表示
• 支援Nyquist编程语言，让您自行撰写效果器

现有问题

• Audacity 并不支援微软的WMA格式。若要作WMA至MP3的转换，可采用Winamp或苹果电脑的iTunes。
• 现时仍未对采用浮动采样的档案正确解读。
• 不能自动辨识空白时间并对声音档进行切割。
